- It’s quite warm, but expect temperatures to dip in the afternoon. Winds will pick up as the temperature falls, so be sure to keep your hands on the steering wheel. No traffic or road problems are anticipated this morning. Roads are good to go from Lawrence to Topeka, as well as Lawrence to Kansas City. Flights at MCI appear to be on time this morning.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
