Eudora student recognized

Eudora ninth-grader Justin Leonard has been recognized by the United States Achievement Academy as a student of excellence in leadership.
The Academy recognizes students upon the recommendation of teachers, coaches, counselors and other qualified sponsors. The standards for selection include academic performance, cooperative attitude, leadership qualities and motivation to learn.
He was nominated by Eudora Middle School teacher Miranda Joy.
He is the son of Angela Leonard Hinnant and Jim Leonard, both of Eudora. His grandparents are Kirby and Arletta Anders, Eudora, and Jack and Brenda Clarke, Ozawkie.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
