The hearing in City Superintendent Gary Malburg's lawsuit against Mayor Fred Stewart, the city and its five council members was postponed because of a conflict of interest with one of the attorneys involved.

Tank-truck driver Leland Massey took third place in the Kansas Truck Roadeo in the five-axle tank-truck roadeo class. Massey had been competing in the annual competition for three years and brought home a trophy each year.

A protest meeting against the contemplated sanding of seven miles of Highway 10, between De Soto and the Douglas County line, took place among delegations from De Soto, Eudora and Lawrence and the state highway commission in Topeka.

Eudora was represented by C.E. Cory, E.W. Melville, Fred Rothberger, Dr. C.B. Johnson, William Lothholz, C.L. Fuller, C.E. Sheldon and George Lothholz.
