Rural water district files motion to have Eudora pay its legal fees

Douglas County Rural Water District No. 4 filed a motion for attorney fees that resulted from its lawsuit with the City of Eudora. RWD 4 filed the motion last week requesting U.S. District Judge Julie A. Robinson award court costs totaling $743,904.72.
Black Lodge recording studio for sale

Some of the bands that have recorded at Black Lodge Recording in Eudora have claimed it was haunted. Owners Ed Rose and Ryan and Rob Pope have decided to sell the studio, making it a possibility that the studio could itself become a specter of the regional music scene of which it has been a part for the last 20 or so years.

Downtown losing businesses

It wasn’t supposed to work this way. The $1.4 million spent on improvements to Main Street between Sixth and 10th streets was supposed to lead to more foot traffic and a more attractive setting that might draw businesses to downtown Eudora. But in the months since the project has finished, Curves, Cutter’s Smokehouse and Coffee Talk have left.

Vacation bible school at St. Paul UCC

St. Paul United Church of Christ and the Eudora United Methodist Church will have vacation Bible school “Kingdom of The Son” Prayer Safari from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. June 22 to 26 at St. Paul’s, 8th and Church streets.
Children’s theatre camp

The 19th annual Eudora citywide garage sale to benefit the ministerial alliance food bank will begin at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
USD 491 recognizes service of outgoing board members
