Cardinal Basketball Camp dates announced

The Eudora Cardinal Basketball Camp will be May 26-29 at Eudora High School. Students entering grades one through four will be from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. and students in grades five through eight will be from 10 a.m. to noon.

JV softball sweeps De Soto

The Eudora junior varsity softball team cruised past De Soto in two blowout victories on Monday, 18-0 and 15-0.

The JV softball team also swept St. James 6-1 and 9-6 in makeup doubleheader.

JV baseball sweeps De Soto

The Eudora junior varsity baseball team swept De Soto 7-5 and 9-5 Monday at Eudora in the team’s last regular season games of the year.

Webb sets JV track meet record

Eudora hosted the junior varsity league track meet Monday, and several Cardinals performed well.

Derek Webb set the meet record in the javelin with a first-place throw of 129-feet, 3-inches. Five Cardinals placed in field events, and three athletes placed individually in running events and two relay teams placed as well.

No team scores were kept at the meet.

Local youth win top honors in competition

Local Several area youth performed well at the Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run Competition May 3 at Eudora.

In the seven and eight-year-old age group, Nathaniel Grosdidier finished in first-place with 366 points. Jayden Pierce also won the hitting championship.

In the 9 and 10 age group, Montiahgo Enriquez was the overall champion, and Mike McClaskey was the pitching champion. Easton Barnes and Kyle Shanks also were champions in the 11 and 12 and 13 and 14 age groups.

The winners will now compete in the sectional competition Saturday in Ottawa.
