DC Storm baseball tryouts announced
The DC Strom 12-U baseball team is having tryouts to fill a few vacant positions for the 2010 summer season. The team is having tryouts on two separate dates.
The first tryout will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at either the Eudora Babe Ruth Field or the Robinson Center located at Kansas University, depending on the weather.
The second tryout will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 14 again at either the Eudora Babe Ruth Field or the Robinson Center at Kansas University, depending on the weather.
Practices will begin in mid February and the season ends in mid July. The team would play in four or five summer tournaments and 16 regular season games. The team will play in the DCABA league in Lawrence.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
