MAYB Basketball announces tournaments

The first of three Mid-America Youth Basketball tournaments will take place Nov. 21-22 in Leavenworth County.
The tournament is open to boys and girls teams in grades 3-8. Cost is $165 per team with a three-game guarantee.
Registration may be done by calling (316) 284-0354 or by going online to mayb.com. Deadline to register is Nov. 6.
Seventh- and eighth-grade students who will be in season with their school team aren’t eligible to play.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
