Scouting News

Cub Scout Pack 3064 committee met Sept. 14 to set plans for upcoming events and reorganize Tiger Cub, Wolf and Bear dens for this school year.

The Webelos den is already meeting with leader Matt Jones on Tuesday nights at Nottingham School.

Interested boys and parents may call 542-3510 for more information. Pack 3064 is chartered to the Eudora United Methodist Church.

• Boy Scout Troop 64 of Eudora held its summer Court of Honor Aug. 15 at Nottingham Community Learning Center, the troop’s new meeting place.

Scouts receiving advancement badges were Connor and Nathan Bradley, who received their Life Scout insignia; Patrick Bradley, who advanced to Star Scout; and Eagle Scout Nathan Gentleman, who received his Eagle Silver Palm.

The following scouts helped the troop earn a total 61 merit badges since their last Court of Honor in March: Connor Bradley, Family Life, Fingerprinting, Fishing and Cooking; Nathan Bradley,Family Life, Fishing, Cooking, Fire Safety; Patrick Bradley, Space Exploration, Cooking, Fishing, Fire Safety, Family Life; Andrew Briery, Citizenship in the Nation, Farm Mechanics, Mammal Studies, Cooking, Fishing, Shotgun, Weather, Pioneering; Nathan Gentleman, American Cultures, Auto Mechanics, Aviation, Fish and Wildlife, Forestry, Farm Mechanics; Andrew Rome, Archery, Basketry, Cooking, Fishing, Golf, Emergency Preparedness, Lifesaving, Woodcarving, Family Life, Citizenship in the Nation; George Watts, Family life, Fishing; Steven Wimmer, First Aid, Fishing, Family Life.

Scouts who will receive their merit badges at the next troop meeting include: Simon Elwell, Family Life, Citizenship in the World, Law, Reptile and Amphibian Study, Cooking, Fishing, Soil and Water Conservation; Matt Jones, Engineering; Devon Middleton, Chemistry, Nuclear Science, Jonathan Morrison, Farm Mechanics; Evhan Sours, Cooking, Fishing, Family Life; Alex Whitten, Family Life, Cooking, Fishing; and Colin Forsberg, Engineering and Space Exploration. Simon Elwell will also receive the Scuba training award.

Troop Charter Organization Representative E. R. Slapar received a certificate of appreciation.

Troop 64 is sponsored by the Eudora Lions Club and meets at 7 p.m. Mondays at NCLC. Interested young men are welcome to visit.
