EHS soccer loses, wins

The Eudora varsity soccer team took on Spring Hill Thursday on the road and fell, 6-1.

The Cardinals also played K.C. Sumner on the road Tuesday and won 2-1.

Next up the Cardinals will play De Soto Saturday at 11:30 at EHS. Eudora will also play Schlagle Tuesday at Eudora.

JV soccer ties

The Eudora junior varsity soccer team played to a 2-2 tie Thursday at Spring Hill. The JV team will play De Soto Saturday and Schlagle Tuesday at Eudora.

JV volleyball 10th at Ottawa

The Eudora junior varsity volleyball team played Saturday in the Ottawa Tournament and finished in 10th place.

JV football splits

The Eudora junior varsity football team had a busy week, playing two games in four days. Eudora played Ottawa Thursday at home and won 24-8. The Cardinals played Paola Monday in another home contest, but fell 21-0.

Next up for the junior varsity squad is a road contest Oct. 8 at Louisburg.

JV cross country competitive at Tonganoxie

The Eudora junior varsity cross country teams competed Sept. 22 at Tonganoxie and had a good showing. In the 5K boys run, Colin Forsberg came in 49th at 21:03 and Keenan Wood finished 78th at 22:01.

For the girls, Bria Carder placed 25th at 19:36, Evan Folks 34th at 20:01, McKenzie Oller 43rd at 20:22 and Hannah Pittman finished 68th at 21:33.

EMS volleyball second at home tourney

Last weekend, the Eudora eighth-grade girls varsity volleyball team competed in the Eudora Middle School volleyball tournament and placed second out of eight teams.

Eudora beat Wellsville (25-14, 25-16), Piper (23-25, 25-22, 15-7), Osawatomie (25-17, 25-15) and fell to Baldwin (12-25, 25-21, 10-15).

Middle School runners compete at Tongie

The Eudora seventh- and eighth-grade cross country teams ran last week at Tonganoxie. For the seventh-grade girls, Bailey Campbel finished 21st with a time of 8:11.

For the seventh-grade boys, Broderick Topil finished 11th, Joel Dixon 14th, C.J. Walls 29th, Laken Straub 42nd, and Zack Dudley 49th.

For the eighth-grade girls, Kelsey Balluch finished 15th and set a personal record with a time of 15:52, Logan Brown also set a personal record at 17:36, which placed 30th overall. F

or the boys, Sam Hanzlik finished 23rd at 14:19, Scott Lounsbury 25th at 14:37, Tristan Chapman 32nd at 15:10 and Gunnar Norris finished 39th and at 15:40. Norris, Lounsbury and Hanzlik’s times were all personal records.
