Rural Eudora man dies after accident on property Friday

A 59-year-old rural Eudora man died Friday from injuries suffered in an accident on his property.

According to Douglas County Sheriff's Sgt. Steve Lewis, emergency crews were dispatched to the 2000 block of North 900 Road shortly after 3 p.m. Friday in reference to an injury accident.

Lewis said Eudora resident John Thoren had been working on a dump truck when the vehicle dislodged, pinning Thoren under its wheel. Thoren was pronounced dead at the scene.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?

As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
