Vinland Fair benefit supper
There will be a whole hog sausage and pancake supper to benefit the Vinland Fair from 5 to 7:30 p.m. March 6 at the Exhibition Building on the fairgrounds.
The traditional benefit supper, dating back more than 60 years, also will give the public a peek at the 22 new windows in the building. The custom made windows are crafted to look exactly like the original windows in the building, which was constructed in 1927 by Vinland Grange members and others in the community.
The Kansas Heritage Trust Fund granted the Vinland Fair Association $10,992 to replace the windows in the building, which has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2004.
The fair association is responsible for the remaining 20 percent of the project cost.
