District hires new EHS principal
March 17, 2010
G.A. Buie has been chosen as the next principal of Eudora High School.
The Eudora USD 491 Board of Education made the choice at a meeting Thursday night.
“Mr. Buie is a great fit for our district,” Superintendent of Schools Don Grosdidier said. “He was looking for an opportunity to return to the high school environment in a smaller community like ours, and I am excited to have him join our team.”
Buie currently is the principal at Wheatridge Middle School in the Gardner-Edgerton School District. Previously, he was principal at Anderson County High School in Garnett. In 2005, he was honored by the National Association of Secondary Principals to represent Kansas as the Kansas MetLife High School Principal of the Year.
He currently serves on the board for the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
Buie will replace current EHS Principal Dale Sample, who announced his retirement earlier this school year.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
