Eudora Lions Club sponsors Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk

Eudora’s first Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk will be Nov. 19.
The event, which begins at 9 a.m. at the Eudora Recreation Center, 1630 Elm St., is a benefit for the Eudora Lions Club Christmas Angel Tree Project.
In the family-friendly event, kids, strollers, bikes and pets on a leash are all welcome.
Registration can be made by calling Audrey Bell at 785-230-2185, or online at eudoralionsclub.webs.com. The “early bird” registration fee of $20 includes a T-shirt and must be made by Friday. After Friday, the fee is $25.
On the day of the run, check-in at the rec center begins at 8 a.m.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
