A memorial gathering for Tyson Lee Proffitt, infant son of Richard and Sherri Corbett Proffitt, was Tuesday at Eudora Baptist Church in Eudora.
He was born Dec. 22, 2009, and died Dec. 24, 2009, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, Grady, a sister, Riley, and a cousin, Emily Corbett, all of the home; maternal grandparents Dennis and Sheryl Corbett, Lyons; paternal grandparents Terry and Susan Proffitt, Gallup, N.M.; maternal great-grandmother Lois Corbett, Osborne; and paternal great-grandparents Faye Dressel, Sterling, and Gerald and Twila Proffitt, Sterling.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Roddy Proffitt.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?

As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
