Rosemary Brown Cumpston 1924 - 2009
Graveside services for Rosemary Brown Cumpston, 84, Lawrence, were Monday at Eudora Cemetery.
She died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at her home in Lawrence.
She was born Dec. 31, 1924, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of William and Kathryn Johnston Gabel.
Mrs. Cumpston worked as a secretary/administrative assistant in the physics department at Kansas University. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church.
She married Elzie O. Brown. He died in 1970. She later married Dale L. Cumpston. He died in 2002.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Linley and husband Al, Flower Mound, Texas; a son, Stephen Brown and wife Lisa, Lawrence; 10 grandchildren, Tim, Kristen, Christina and Stephen Linley, Kenton and Jason Brown, Tyler and Jacob Pool, and Trista and Tim Reeves; two great-grandchildren, Kylee and Dakota Pool; and many nieces and nephews.

As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
