Lauretta G. Shoemaker 1914 - 2008

Funeral services for Lauretta G. Shoemaker, 93, Eudora, were Monday, Jan. 7, at Copan First Baptist Church with the Rev. Willard Lyons officiating. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney.
Mrs. Shoemaker died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at the Medicalodge in Eudora.
She was born April 2, 1914, in Overbrook, the daughter of Oren and Eve Andrews Bame. She attended school in Overbrook. She was a former resident of Overbrook, Tonganoxie, Kansas City and Copan, Okla.
Mrs. Shoemaker was a member of Copan First Baptist Church and Copan Senior Citizens.
She married Glenn Shoemaker on April 16, 1932, in Lyndon. He died in October 1991.
Mrs. Shoemaker was also preceded in death by a son, two brothers, a sister, a grandson and a son-in-law.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Currant, Lawrence, and Sharon Gaskill, Copan, Okla.; four sons, Robert Shoemaker and Michael Shoemaker, both of Phoenix, Donald Shoemaker, Sunrise Beach, Mo., and Roy Shoemaker, Osceola, Mo.; a brother, Joe Bame, Topeka; a sister-in-law, June Bame, Topeka; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory in Bartlesville, Okla., was in charge of arrangements.
