Janice Huls 1942 - 2009

Funeral services for Janice Huls, 67, Carthage, were held June 13 at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Burial followed in the Bowen Cemetery in Bowen.
Mrs. Huls died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at her home.
She was born June 10, 1942, in Elvaston, the daughter of John Irving and Isabelle Bennett Scott. She attended school in Carthage and earned a nursing degree from Carl Sandburg College in 1981.
Mrs. Huls was a nurse at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb for more than 20 years. She volunteered for the American Red Cross and at the gift shop at Memorial Hospital in Carthage for many years.
She married Clifford Huls on Dec. 1, 1958, in Carthage. They were later separated.
Survivors include four daughters, Cheryl Gaines, Bowen, Teresa Leenerts, Hamilton, Julie Walker, Carthage, and Rhonda Vinyard, Bloomfield, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Scott, Redding, Calif., and David Scott, Fort Worth, Texas; and a sister, Mary Beth Coppedge, Eudora, Kan.
