She died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at Medicalodges Eudora.
She was born June 4, 1911, in Waukomis, Okla., the daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Hattie Belle Sprout Wilson.
She had owned her own beauty shop in Kansas City, Kan., since 1936. She was retired. She was a member of Chelsea Christian Church in Kansas City, Kan.
Survivors include a half-sister, Doris Sellers, and a half-brother, George Wilson.
The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
