What are your thoughts on the national coverage of the deaths of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson?

Ken Mark ( in Tonganoxie) says...

“The media coverage does seem to be a bit much. A big part of our culture seems to have a fascination with celebrities and that is true with celebrity deaths as well.”

Emily Jefferies ( in Tonganoxie) says...

“I feel like there is a lot of emphasis on celebrity deaths when one, average citizens die everyday. Why isn't the media covering their story? And two, there are more pressing issues that the media could be covering instead. By spending so much time covering celebrity gossip, our media fosters a society uninterested in national policy and the real world.”

Art Hancock ( in ) says...

“I sent an email to the Today Show expressing my views of their over-coverage. I enjoyed his music. I didn’t have anything against Michael Jackson particularly, but it didn’t need to go on. I really think it is overkill. There’s so much more going on in the world that deserves some coverage.”
