Do you think the state should do more to help businesses near K-7 and Johnson Drive as an interchange is constructed?
Given the time the state has had to prepare, I don’t think completing the access road before starting/ closing Johnson Drive is an unreasonable request from these businesses or those of us who patronize them.
Yes. I live in the area and know a couple of these business owners. This is a new area with most businesses in the early stages of executing their business plans. They need all the help they can get.
KDOT is typically very good about providing temporary signing, access, etc. to the local businesses throughout the course of a project.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
