What's your reaction to healthcare reform legislation passing this past weekend in Washington, D.C.?

Jacque Admire ( in Tonganoxie) says...
“As a person who spent an entire career in healthcare, I am delighted. There are many things in the bill that could have been better worked out but we needed to get past both the elephants and the mules and get on to fixing a broken system for the people. This gives us a place to start that task. Healthcare will be more available to people who need it and the system will become more accountable for how this country spends our healthcare resources.”
Dennis Bixby ( in Tonganoxie) says...
“Nearly a $1 trillion cost can't be good for our country. Within minutes after passage, Moody's dropped our AAA bond rating (U.S. credit rating). Investment will begin to dry up at the same time taxes will increase to begin to pay for healthcare, which doesn't fully implement for four years. Expect runaway inflation as the treasury prints even more money. It was never really about health care. It was really about our freedom.”
Lindsey Truesdell ( in Tonganoxie) says...
“I'll be honest about my reaction. It really comes down to confusion. The bill has morphed so much within the last year it's been hard for me to follow, so I'm still trying to muddle through news articles to figure out exactly what passed. Beyond this, the healthcare debate has many complex sides, and every time I get an answer it just leads me to 10 more questions. It's something that I feel requires a lot of research before forming a complete opinion, which is something I'm afraid many people are forgetting when voicing theirs.”
