As a youngster, our son responded to Farmer Jason’s request and competed with other children doing the “Doggy Dance” and won his latest CD. It was hilarious!

I fondly remember taking my twin girls at 3 years old to ride on the carnival rides. Their thrill when riding in the Dragon Tale ride was priceless.

Walking in the Saturday parade and tossing out candy to the kids lining the streets. Also, I love all the carnival food, and it’s the one time of year I indulge.

My favorite Old Shawnee Days memory, talking with old and young about how it was in years gone by.

My favorite memory is the look of awe on the children’s faces at the outlaw bank robbery and big shootout reenactment — Black Bart sure had the kids mesmerized!

My favorite memory is when I joined the Lions Club and we put up a food booth at the festival. It was a lot of fun for me just working the booth and seeing my neighbors and friends.

I have been consulting with the leadership in Shawnee Town with their fundraising efforts. Everyone should make a contribution toward this worthy cause and become a Friend of Shawnee Town.
