Eudora Area Historical Society members (from left) Rex Burkhardt,
former president; current vice-president Glenn Wineinger and
secretary Fern Long were instrumental in making suggestions for
park names. The Eudora Recreation and Parks Commission accepted 30
entries, which were narrowed to six per park before making a final
decision. Most of the final names were submitted by the historical
society.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
