Workers install traffic lights Thursday on the Church Street bridge over K-10 in preparation for KDOT bridge improvements that will begin at the end of July. Douglas County will begin work on a mill and overlay project on Church Street after the bridge project is finished in late September.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
