Eudora Community EMS responders work on a rollover accident on south County Road 1061. Eudora EMS had one vehicle and supplies redistributed to the Eudora Township Fire Department in an EMS restructuring agreement Douglas County Commissioners signed June 15.

Douglas County restructures emergency medical services
Firefighters and emergency medical technicians routinely put their lives on the line to help others. So, it comes as no surprise that Eudora Fire Chief Randy Ates would see only positives in a new agreement that increases EMS coverage for the Eudora area.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
