Why is it that we don't have an extension on the LDCFD in Eudora similar to what Baldwin has? I am assuming that since Baldwin does have a LDCFD department that it is a full time paid department (again that is just an assumption) but to me it would make more since for Eudora to have a full time paid fire department or at least a full time paid EMS department with real ambulances that can respond to medical calls rather than having to wait 10-15 minutes for LDCFD to arrive from Lawrence.
I have heard a rumor going around town lately about a new hospital being built at the south east corner of K-10 and church. If this is indeed true what all would it include.
Also i have some concern over response time to medical calls in the city. I was outside washing my car on sunday and noticed what i assume to be a medical emergency at the elderly home on 14th street two EEMS units arrived fairly quickly but it was almost another 15minutes before an actual ambulance arrived. this could be a real problem for someone who has serious life threatining injuries. Are there any plans to possibly improve this situation.
