Dan Hoover cuts the hair of a standard poodle in his grooming shop on his farm in Eudora. Hoover also does dog grooming at The Bonner Springs Animal Care Center a couple days of the week. Hoover attended the New York School of Dog Grooming and has been involved with national dog shows for more than a decade.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
