THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GOODLAND HAS ISSUED A HIGH WIND
WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY
AFTERNOON.
* PEAK WINDS...WIND GUSTS OF 60 TO 70 MPH ARE LIKELY...WITH THE
HIGHEST WIND GUSTS ANTICIPATED WEST OF A LEOTI TO GOODLAND AND
YUMA LINE.
* TIMING/DURATION...WIND GUSTS OF 60 MPH ARE ANTICIPATED TO
DEVELOP BY MID MORNING OVER EAST CENTRAL COLORADO...QUICKLY
STRENGTHENING TO THE EAST THROUGH THE MORNING.
* IMPACTS...THE HIGH WIND GUSTS WILL LEAD TO BLOWING SNOW DURING
THE MORNING WITH VISIBILITIES DROPPING AS LOW AS A MILE AT
TIMES OVER THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE WATCH. BLOWING DUST MAY
DEVELOP OVER FIELDS WITH SPARSE VEGETATION WHICH HAVE DRIED OUT
SINCE THE LAST RAIN OR SNOWFALL. HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES TRAVELING
EAST OR WEST WILL BE VERY SUSCEPTIBLE TO TIPPING OVER.
