WILL THIS MORNING AND BECOME WIDESPREAD BY THIS EVENING...
.LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE FROM THE SOUTHERN PLAINS INTO THE LOWER
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY BY SATURDAY. LIGHT PRECIPITATION OVER THE AREA
DURING THE DAY TODAY WILL BECOME HEAVIER THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT.
THIS WILL OCCUR WHILE TEMPERATURES ALSO GRADUALLY WARM...BUT SOME
AREAS...PARTICULARLY OVER CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI...WILL
REMAIN COLD ENOUGH TO SEE UP TO A QUARTER OF AN INCH OF ICE
ACCUMULATION. SOME SLEET WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE AT TIMES.

* SHORT TERM TRENDS...RADAR TRENDS SHOW INCREASING TRENDS IN TERMS
OF LIGHT PRECIPITATION OVER PARTS OF CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL
MISSOURI. REPORTS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION...EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT...VOLUNTEER OBSERVERS...AND
THE MEDIA INDICATE A MIX OF LIGHT FREEING DRIZZLE AND SLEET OVER
CENTRAL MISSOURI. A SOMEWHAT HEAVIER BAND OF FREEZING RAIN AND
SLEET HAS ALSO DEVELOPED OVER FAR SOUTHERN MISSOURI. THERE HAS
BEEN SOME IMPACT ON ROADS AT TIMES WHERE TEMPERATURES HAVE REMAINED
WELL BELOW FREEZING OVER CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI.
* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...SOUTHEAST
KANSAS...SOUTHWEST...CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI THROUGH
SATURDAY AT 9 AM.
* SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS...A TRACE TO A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN
INCH OF SLEET WILL BE POSSIBLE.
* ICE ACCUMULATION...ICE ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM
A LIGHT GLAZE TO UP TO A QUARTER OF AN INCH POSSIBLE ACROSS THE
FAR EASTERN MISSOURI OZARKS AND SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI FROM THE
ROLLA AREA SOUTH TO SALEM AND EMINENCE.
* IMPACTS...WITH COLD TEMPERATURES AND FROZEN GROUND IN PLACE...
ANY FREEZING DRIZZLE OR FREEZING RAIN THAT FALLS WILL QUICKLY
FORM A GLAZE OF ICE ON AREA ROADWAYS RESULTING IN HAZARDOUS
TRAVEL CONDITIONS.
