.A COLD FRONT WILL PUSH THROUGH THE AREA TODAY AND TONIGHT. COLD
ARCTIC AIR WILL MOVE IN BEHIND THE FRONT TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY.
PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN TO REDEVELOP LATE TONIGHT AND IS EXPECTED
TO TRANSITION FROM RAIN TO FREEZING RAIN...SLEET AND THEN SNOWFALL
FROM TONIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING. ONLY A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF ICE
ACCRETION IS EXPECTED BEFORE TRANSITIONING OVER TO SLEET AND SNOW.
SNOW MAY BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES DURING THE LATE MORNING AND
AFTERNOON HOURS OVER SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI WITH STORM TOTAL SNOW
OF FOUR TO SIX INCHES EXPECTED. THERE MAY BE ISOLATED HIGHER
AMOUNTS WITHIN THE HEAVIER SNOW BANDS THAT DEVELOP. THE
COMBINATION OF ICE AND SNOW IS THE REASON FOR THE WINTER STORM WATCH.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH
LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...SOUTHEAST OF A BRANSON TO SALEM LINE
BEGINNING EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING AND CONTINUING THROUGH
WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
* SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS...GENERAL FOUR TO SIX INCH AMOUNTS
ARE EXPECTED WITH ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.
* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...THE WINTRY PRECIPITATION WILL INITIALLY
BEGIN AS SOME FREEZING RAIN WITH ICE ACCRETIONS OF UP TO 0.05 OF
AN INCH POSSIBLE.
* WINDS AND VISIBILITY...NORTHERLY WINDS OF 10 TO 15 MPH ALONG
WITH THE HEAVIER SNOW WILL CAUSE VISIBILITY OF A HALF MILE OR
LESS AT TIMES.
* IMPACTS...ROADWAYS WILL BECOME HAZARDOUS FOR TRAVEL AS THE ICE
AND SNOW ACCUMULATES.
