...HAZARDOUS WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS POSSIBLE SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT...
A STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING A LIGHT MIX OF WINTER PRECIPITATION TO
THE AREA SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT. LIGHT FREEZING RAIN...POSSIBLY
MIXED WITH SLEET AT THE ONSET...IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP FROM
SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST SUNDAY MORNING AND CONTINUE INTO SUNDAY
NIGHT. THE PRECIPITATION MAY MIX WITH SNOW ACROSS FAR NORTHERN
SECTIONS OF MISSOURI AND WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS.
THE GREATEST ICE ACCUMULATION...OF UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH...IS
FORECAST ALONG AND EAST OF I-44 IN MISSOURI AND ALONG AND SOUTH OF
I-70 IN ILLINOIS. MINOR SLEET AND SNOW ACCUMULATION OF LESS THAN
AN INCH IS POSSIBLE ACROSS NORTHERN MISSOURI AND WEST CENTRAL
ILLINOIS.
THE GREATEST IMPACT WILL BE ICE ACCUMULATING ON UNTREATED AND
ELEVATED ROAD SURFACES. THOSE PLANNING TRAVEL ACROSS THE REGION
SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT ARE URGED TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECAST
AND BE AWARE OF THE POTENTIAL FOR HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.
