Nixon and McNulty
Rachel Nixon and Michael McNulty announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of Patricia Nixon and the late Stephen Nixon, Omaha, Neb. She is a 1997 graduate of Bryan High School and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Washburn University. She is a legal secretary for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
The future groom is the son of Judy and Tom McNulty, Lawrence. He is a 1995 graduate of Eudora High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Sciences from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is the Operations Director for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s Center for Public Health Preparedness.
The couple plan a June 13, 2009, wedding at Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
