Habitat event a success despite absence of some

February 15, 2001

To the editor:

These are some observations from the Habitat for Humanity dance and silent auction that took place Saturday night, Feb. 3.

It was great and I want to say thank you to everyone that worked on the project. Thank you to everyone that donated items for the auction. Thank you to everyone who came, danced, enjoyed, and bid on the items.

Also, thank you to Kim and Greg Neis for donating the use of Kim's Barn (it's wonderful) and to Rex Burkhardt for his endless supply of music.

There was however, a very obvious void in the attendance.

What happened to Eudora's business and professional people?

Are you not in support of such a great project in our community, or is it like in so many other communities, are you too busy to attend such an event that could help very much in our community pride and bring togetherness? "It takes a village!"

Oh well, it was your loss, we had a great time.

Mary Lou Hamlin,

Eudora
