Consistency a problem for Cardinals
After a terrible first half, the Lady Cardinals would like to forget their 55-34 loss at Spring Hill on Tuesday.
"There was no effort in the first half," said Coach Gretchen Freeland. "Spring Hill was getting all the loose balls."
At the end of the third quarter and beginning of the fourth, Freeland said, the girls finally came around and started playing with some intensity. However, it came too late.
"I think that their strong, aggressive defense intimidated us," Freeland said.
Without senior Melanie Smith, the Cards are having to redefine roles on the team.
"That's hard to do with a lot of defensive pressure," the coach said.
Jessica Bryant led Eudora with 15 points and six rebounds. Spring Hill's Jessica Hocker also scored 15 points.
"After this game, we really need to work on our consistency," Freeland said.
The Cards host Louisburg on Tuesday.
