… and approves budget cuts
City officials refined the proposed budget at a second study session after the city council meeting Monday.
In two weeks, the council will approve and publish the budget to meet the August 5 deadline.
Changes included trimming:
general government salaries from $149,000 to $140,000
street salaries from $85,000 to $81,000
new recreation department equipment from $38,000 to $20,000
research and study in the electric utility fund from $45,000 to $30,000
These eliminations are part of the budget:
$20,000 for land purchase and easement from the water utility fund
$45,000 in dues for the electric utility fund
"We all worked off the wish lists, and now we're looking at the reality list," Mayor Ron Conner said. "We need to get those two to meet."
