Lena M. Deonier

Graveside services for Lena Mae Deonier, 95, Eudora, were Monday, June 11 at the Deay Cemetery, south of Eudora.

Deonier died Thursday, June 7, 2001 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Oct. 8, 1905, in Eudora, the daughter of Edd and Florence Milburn. Deonier was a teacher in Hopewell, Stoney Point, Linwood, Wilder and Sunflower schools. She was a member of Eudora United Methodist Church.

She married John J. Deonier Dec. 30, 1950 in Ottawa. He preceded her in death April 12, 1984.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Goldie Neeley, La Russell, Mo., and Carol Clothier, Montesano, Wash.; three stepsons, J.W. Deonier, La Russell, Mo., Dick Deonier, Pittsburg, and Burney Deonier, Eudora; 19 stepgrandchildren, 32 stepgreat-grandchildren, and 12 stepgreat-greatgrandchildren.

A stepdaughter and two stepsons died earlier.

The family suggests memorials in her name to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.
