William R. Wilson
Services for William R. Wilson, 78, Eudora, were Monday, June 11 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence. Burial was in Eudora City Cemetery.
Wilson died Friday, June 8, 2001 at Eudora Nursing Center.
He was born May 26, 1923 in Lawrence, the son of William and Edith Wilson. He was a Eudora resident for the past 30 years.
Mr. Wilson served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a carpenter by trade and later became a millwright. He retired from General Motors in Kansas City, Kan.
He was a member of Alford-Clarke Post No. 852 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Lawrence, and Carpenter's Union Local No. 2279.
He married Marie Bryant March 6, 1954 in Tulsa, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Amelia Wilson, Lawrence; two sons, Jay Wilson and Dennis Wilson, both of Eudora, and three grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Humane Society or Alzheimer's Foundation & Related Disorders, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.
