Donna R. Stone
Services for Donna Rae Stone, 50, Denton, were Tuesday, Oct. 9, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bendena. Burial was in Moray Cemetery, north of Bendena.
Ms. Stone died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at her home.
She was born April 1, 1951, in Topeka, the daughter of Harry F. and Vernadine A. Reich Stone. She was raised in Topeka and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1969. She earned a bachelor's degree in education from Emporia State University in 1973. She moved to the Denton area from Albion, Mich., in 1996.
Ms. Stone was a teacher. She taught in the Eudora School District from 1978 to 1982. She was also a volleyball and basketball coach at Eudora. She later earned a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. She retired from teaching in 1996.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bendena. She was a former Girl Scout and a life member of the American Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance of Washington, D.C.
Survivors include a companion, Linda J. Barrow, of the home; her mother, Vernadine Stone, Topeka; and a brother, Robert W. Stone, Houston.
