Dearld E. Marrs
Funeral services for Dearld E. "Bud" Marrs, 80, Falls City, Neb., were Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, Falls City, with the Rev. William G. Shipman officiating. Military graveside services by the Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard were at Steele Cemetery, Falls City.
Mr. Marrs died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at Community Medical Center, Falls City.
He was born Nov. 13, 1921, in Ekley, Colo., the son of Matthew and Sarah (Kindred) Marrs.
He moved to Savannah, Mo., with his family and later moved to Falls City, Neb. He also lived in Salem, Neb.
Mr. Marrs served in the United States Army during World War II. He operated several businesses in Falls City and moved to Rockaway Beach, Mo., for a few years after his retirement. He then returned to Falls City.
He was a member of the First Brethren Church, Falls City; the American Legion Post No. 1765; a past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1765; and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He married Imogene Kincanon Dec. 24, 1938, in Forest City, Mo. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include five sons, Billy Marrs, Terry Marrs, and Rickey Marrs, all of Falls City, Neb., Don Marrs, Colon, Neb., Harry Marrs, Burlington; two daughters, Mary Lea Hayes, Falls City, Neb., and Elda Jean Rhodd, Eudora; a brother, Carl Marrs, Forsyth, Mo.; 33 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.
Three sons, Carl Marrs, James Marrs and Jon Marrs, four brothers, four sisters, and two great-granddaughters preceded him in death.
