Elizabeth Perkins Pell

Funeral services for Elizabeth Perkins Pell, 83, De Soto, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the De Soto United Methodist Church. Burial will be at De Soto Cemetery.

Mrs. Pell died Monday, April 14, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 20, 1919, in Hazelton, Pa., the daughter of John and Henrietta Perkins.

Mrs. Pell taught for 25 years in the De Soto School District.

She was a member of the De Soto United Methodist Church, National Education Association, where she served at one time as president of the De Soto NEA. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She also helped form the Girl Scouts of De Soto.

She married Luke A. Pell. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include four daughters, Anne Pell Moscrip, Durham, N.C., Harriet Pell, Denver, Colo., Peggy Pell, Mission, and Catherine Lapp, Land of Lakes, Wis., formerly of Eudora; a son John Pell, Fredericksburg, Va.; two sisters, Margaret Hamilton of Massachusetts and Harriet Humphrey of New York; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

The family suggests memorials to the De Soto United Methodist Church, sent in care of Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, De Soto.
