Charles E. Rector

Services for Charles E. Rector, 76, Abilene, were Friday, Aug. 20, at First United Methodist Church, Abilene. Burial with military honors was in Abilene Cemetery.
Mr. Rector died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at Abilene Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 23, 1928, in Abilene, the son of Joseph and Estel Gray Rector.
Mr. Rector served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He worked at the ADM mill for 40 years before retiring in 1992.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He married Melva Pierce on April 10, 1953. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, David Rector, Ottawa; a daughter, Pamela Rector, El Dorado; a sister, Dessie Funk, Eudora; six brothers, Herbert Rector, Arthur Rector, Everett Rector and Clarence Rector, all of Abilene, Harold Rector, Enterprise, and Clifford Rector, Chapman; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
The family suggests memorials to the church or Abilene Area Hospice, sent in care of Danner Funeral Home, P.O. Box 758, Abilene 67410.
