Raymond D. Reed

Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond D. Reed, 63, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Reed died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 15, 1941, in Lawrence, the son of Delbert and Opal Maybery Reed.

Mr. Reed served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict.

He was a member of the Alford-Clark Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 852 and the American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14.

Mr. Reed was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.

He married Phyllis Briggs on May 26, 1967, in Miami, Okla. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Turner, Lawrence, and Michelle Spurling, Eudora; two brothers, Delbert Reed Jr., Lawrence, and George Reed, Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; and two granddaughters.

A brother and two sisters preceded him in death.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Fund, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence 66044.
