Violet K. Abel

Services for Violet K. Abel, 71, Brunswick, Maine, were Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Brackett Funeral Home, Brunswick. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Brunswick, in the spring.
Ms. Abel died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at Central Maine Medical Center, Waterville.
She was born June 7, 1932, in Eudora, the daughter of Otto and Sarah (Neis) Abel. She graduated in 1950from Eudora High School, where she was a cheerleader and pitched for the girls softball team. She moved to Maine from Lawrence.
Ms. Abel was employed for 15 years in the business office at Parkview Memorial Hospital. She was the church treasurer for 15 years at the Brunswick Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include her companion, Loren Feldman, Sabattus, Maine; three sons, Randy Kemberling, Los Angeles, Calif.; and Edward and Mark Kemberling, both of Brunswick; a daughter, B. Christa Clarkson, Richmond, Maine; two brothers, George Abel and Carl Abel, both of Eudora; three sisters, Minnie Fesmire, Olathe, Elva Kindred, Eudora, and Marion Shutt, Lawrence; and four grandchildren.
Two sons, Michael Kemberling and Ronald Kemberling, and a sister, Annetta Wright, preceded her in death.
