Ruth A. Guy
Services for Ruth A. Guy, 90, Eudora, were Saturday, May 8, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel. Graveside services were in McKee Cemetery near Hallowell.
Mrs. Guy died Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at Eudora Nursing Center.
She was born March 14, 1914, in Cherokee County, the daughter of Harman S. and Venetta "Nettie" Lewis Patch. She moved in 1952 from Columbus, Kan., to Lawrence. She moved to Eudora in 1996.
Mrs. Guy was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church and Daughters of the American Revolution.
She married Alvie H. "Bud" Guy on June 8, 1932, in Columbus. He died Nov. 15, 2000.
A son, Alvie H. Guy Jr., died in 1941. A granddaughter also died earlier.
Survivors include three sons, James L. Guy, Eudora, Norman R. "Jack" Guy, Basehor, and John R. Guy, Lawrence; a daughter, Norma M. "Jill" Johnson, Eudora; three sisters, Maud Griffitt, Columbus, Edna Hanks, Girard, and Mattie Fornelli, Lawrence; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to American Diabetes Association, sent in care of the mortuary, 1003 John L. Williams, Eudora 66025.
