Graveside services for Cathryn Eva Deay, 52, Eudora, were Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Deay Cemetery in Eudora.

Ms. Deay died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, at her home.

She was born June 21, 1952, the daughter of Charles and Alice Elizabeth Pfankuche Deay. She graduated from Eudora High School.

Ms. Deay enlisted in the Army and retired in 1993 as a sergeant first class after 22 years of service. She was a veteran of the Vietnam and Persian Gulf wars. Her tours of duty included Gelnhausen, Germany, and several stateside locations. She received numerous medals and awards.

Survivors include a daughter, Alice Norman Benedict, Augusta, Ga.

The family suggests memorials to the American Legion Dorsey Liberty Post No. 14 or the Veterans of Foreign Wars Alford-Clarke Post No. 852, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, Eudora 66025.
