Services for Lloyd Charles Douglas, 74, Lawrence, were Saturday, April 9, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial was in Hubbel Hill Cemetery in Tonganoxie.

Mr. Douglas died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 4, 1930, in Lawrence, the son of Lloyd Bryan and Roberta Cornell Douglas. He grew up in Linwood and graduated from Linwood High School. He moved to Lawrence in 1953.

Mr. Douglas served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1953. He worked at Reuter Organ Co. in Lawrence for 26 years. He also worked for the Lawrence school district as a custodian at Sunset Hill School for 10 years, and at a Dillons store in Lawrence for three years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lawrence.

He married Margaret Howard on Jan. 12, 1958, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Mark Douglas, Lawrence, and Steven Douglas, Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Cheryl Alley, Lawrence; two sisters, Beverly Kennedy and Edith Oelschlaeger, both of Lawrence; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Humane Society or to an organization of the donor's choice, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 1260, Lawrence 66044.
