Funeral services for Richard "Rick" Ray, 49, Lawrence, were Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial was in Holy Family Cemetery in Eudora.
Mr. Ray died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.
He was born June 21, 1957, in Lawrence, the son of Leonard and Beulah Flory Ray.
Mr. Ray worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of Operating Engineers Local 101.
He married Teri Cronin on June 9, 1983, in Colorado Springs, Colo. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Ashley Ray, Nashville, Tenn., and Kelsie Ray, of the home; his grandmother, Goldie Ray, Tonganoxie; three brothers, Mike Ray, Bonner Springs, Lonnie Ray, Lawrence, and T.J. Cassatt, McLouth; seven sisters, Charlotte Woodruff, Carol Mendel, Linda Mole, Gail Ray, Frances Ray and Marie Ray, all of Lawrence, and Christine Carter, Ottawa.
The family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence 66044.
