Donald W. Ball

A celebration of life for Donald W. Ball, 65, Charlottesville, was Sunday at Hill and Wood Funeral Home in Charlottesville, where friends shared in a time of remembrance.
Mr. Ball died Thursday, June 15, 2006, at a Charlottesville hospital.
He was born July 19, 1940, in Calico Rock, Ark., the son of the late William W. and Amy Conrad Ball.
Mr. Ball was a professor of education at the University of Virginia School of Education since 1973.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Tarpley, Charlottesville; a son, Jon, New York; a daughter, Amy Ball, Moscow, Idaho; a stepdaughter, Amanda Reeve, Charlottesville; a stepson, Adam Reeve, Waynesboro, Va.; two sisters, Snowdean Arnold, De Soto, Kan., and Pauline Stephens, Eudora, Kan.; three brothers, Jesse, Blane and Nole, all of Lawrence, Kan.; and four grandchildren, Emily, Samantha, Molly and Ella.
The family suggests memorials to a charity of the donor's choice.
