Band to perform
The 35th Infantry Division Band of the Kansas Army National Guard will appear in concert at 2 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Baldwin Middle School auditorium in Baldwin City.
Also known as "The Governors Own Band," the 35th Band has performed extensively throughout the Midwestern United States, the eastern seaboard, and traveled as musical ambassadors for the Department of State on three international tours.
The Band is headquartered in Olathe and is composed of 58 citizen/soldier musicians from Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
The band's annual audience count exceeds 50,000 concert-goers who hear performances from the concert band, swing band, marching band, popular music groups and chamber music ensembles.
The 35th Division Band is commanded by Chief Warrant Officer Stephen Patterson of Topeka.
Admission to the concert is free.
