Ashley Kraus, Eudora, and John Cross, Manhattan, married Saturday, July 22, 2006, in an outdoor ceremony in rural Linwood, with the Rev. Tyson Putthoff officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Lee and Rita Kraus, Eudora. The groom is the son of Col. Steve and Toni Cross, Manhattan.
Jessica Kraus was maid of honor. Rob Smail was best man.
Leigh Anne Cooper, Emily Hermreck-Cassel and Emily Putthoff were bridesmaids. Rylie Putthoff was flower girl.
Matt Newkirk, Eric Taylor and David Phillips were groomsmen.
Ushers were Jason Swarts, Preston Putthoff, William Porter and Jake Herrstrom.
A reception and dance followed the ceremony.
The bride wore a light ivory strapless beaded gown. Her bouquet consisted of bright red and yellow Asiatic lilies and roses, and small deep purple flowers.
She graduated from Eudora High School and from Baker University with a major in mass communications with an emphasis in photojournalism. She is employed at the Ottawa Herald.
The groom graduated from Manhattan High School and from Baker University with majors in political science and philosophy. He is in the United States Army and is currently stationed at Ft. Jackson, S.C.
After a honeymoon trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple is at home in Ottawa.
